About Me

This is my thirteenth year teaching at Orchard School and my nineth year teaching 7th/8th grade. In all my years of teaching, I have been privileged enough to teach pre-school, second, fourth, fifth, seventh grade English Language Arts & World History,  7-8 Technology Elective, and 7-8 yearbook. Additionally, in the past, I have served as Leadership Adviser for our middle schoolers. In this capacity, I was able to take a group of Leadership students to a four day camp in Santa Cruz every summer.

I grew up in Palm Springs, but now live in the Sacramento Area with my husband Luke. We have three sons and a daughter. Family is so important to me and it has changed the way I teach and lead students.

I graduated from the University of California, Irvine with a Bachelor's Degree in Political Science, and a minor in education. I went on to complete my California Teaching Credential and Masters of Art in Education from the University of California, Davis. Since graduating with my masters, I continue to take classes, in order to constantly better my teaching.

In addition to academics, I played volleyball for 10 years and coached, danced ballet, performed in a drama program, cheered, and played piano! My passion for sports, music, and drama are integral to my teaching style.

After graduating and starting a family, I wanted to model health for my children and so, certainly much to my high school PE teacher's shock, I became a runner and started running 5k's, 10k's, and half marathons.
